Yvonne Ohui MacCarthy reappointed WAACSP board chairperson

The board of trustees and the body of patrons and fellows of the West Africa Association of customer service professionals [WAACSP] has reappointed the Yvonne Ohui MacCarthy led management team of 2020-2022 for another term of two years; 2022-2024, with a mandate to build on the growth of the past two years and ensure West Africa improves on service professionalism, professionals, education, advocacy, practices, procedures , quality and overall growth index to international ranking benchmark.

In a tenure largely affected by the Covid19 pandemic, the Ohui MacCarthy led board steered the association to unimaginable height and recorded unprecedented success, Improving the quality of service education despite lockdown and public gathering, the board swiftly transited to online education and over 1,100 Ecowas nationals were trained and certified within the pandemic deploying and maintaining an online system embraced by the service community. in 2021, the board conducted  the ‘first online -3 cities induction’ held simultaneously in Accra, Abuja and Lagos with over 500 service professionals inducted. Opening of an office in Lagos, Nigeria adding to the regions HQ in Accra and growing to become Africa’s biggest customer service body are some of the lofty heights the WAACSP management team have taken the association to in two years.

Yvonne Ohui MacCarthy leads her team as chairperson with Nelson Simeon (Vice and head of technical), Chris Anozie (secretary) however, the head of legal Akpanika left the board on personal grounds.

In her remark, Ms MacCarthy  thanked the board for believing in her and the team and promised to build on the gains of the past two years and position the association as a global brand and a reference point in customer experience, management and delivery across the region.

Yvonne Ohui MacCarthy , head of Institute of customer service professionals (ICSP) -Ghana, founder and convener of the Ghana Customer Service Index (GCSI)  a UK trained service professional is a doyen and advocate of excellent  service in Africa  and recipient of numerous awards recognizing her contribution to the industry in Ghana and Africa.

The management team’s tenure starts April 1st 2022 til March 31st 2024.
